We were camping. As you can see, I wasn't feeling well but the real problem was when I swam across that big cold lake (I LOVE to swim).
My parents thought that was the reason I was so cold but the real reason was my body was shutting down from ketoacidosis. By the time they figured out I wasn't going to warm up and got me to a hospital, I was in a coma and my core temperature had dropped to 93 degrees.

I was in a coma for two and a half days.
I was in the hospital for six days. Mom and Dad were there with me the whole time. I had a lot of visitors but I don't remember them all because I was still in a coma when some of them visited. My stepbrother and stepsister were busy at home too preparing a welcome home surprise for me.
We got quite a surprise when I was finally ready to leave the hospital. Mom's expecting a baby and when the nurses came to check me out they took a look at mom and had her checked in. It was three months before the baby was due but everything was OK.
When we finally got home they had decorated everything.
We had fun at the hospital too. It wasn't all needles and sugar-free food.
